Open Science: Tools and Strategies for Informed Publishing

, by Diane Orze
The event dedicated to PhD students and researchers returns on May 27, focusing on Open Science and its practical implications for scientific publishing

Open Science is more than just an ideal of transparency — it is an increasingly widespread practice in academic research that helps enhance the impact, visibility, and quality of scientific output. To explore these topics and provide practical tools for the academic community, Bocconi University Library is offering a one-hour online workshop open to PhD students, faculty members, and final-year students.

The session will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM. It will provide an opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of Open Science and Open Access, the benefits they offer to researchers, and the strategies for publishing openly and responsibly. The workshop will also cover transformative agreements that the Library has signed with major academic publishers — including Elsevier and Springer — allowing authors to publish in Open Access without additional costs.

Originally held for the first time in April, the workshop is being offered again to give more participants the chance to attend. The format will be hands-on, featuring concrete examples and time for questions. To register, please book your spot through the yoU@B agenda under the “Appointments” section. For more information, you can contact infobiblio@unibocconi.it.com.

This is a valuable opportunity to navigate the evolving world of scientific publishing and to better showcase your research work.
